The Chicago Triathlon is coming soon! Located only a few feet from the transition area with a full fleet of road bikes for rent, 3rd Coast Cycles is the ideal solution for those looking to rent a bike for the race. We have a variety of bikes that range from our Sport Hybrids all the way to our Professional Road lineup, with brands such as Cannondale, Litespeed, Trek, Diamondback, and more. Reservations will go quickly so get yours while you can! Check out our options in the tabs below.

All rentals for the Chicago Triathlon will be available for pickup on Friday and must be returned by 6pm on Sunday. We offer Friday pickup so that you have time to get used to the bike’s fit and are familiar with the controls before the races on Saturday/Sunday. Those competing on Saturday can leave a note and their reservation can be moved up a day (Thursday-Saturday).

We are located directly next to the Triathlon Transition Area where you leave your bike for the race, so if you have any mechanical or fit issues we’ll be right here to help you out before you drop your bike off at the transition area.

Sport Hybrids: $189

Premium Road: $199

Super Premium Road: $299

Professional Road: $389

Bike Types

Please note: Our fleet is constantly evolving and modernizing, as we sell and buy bikes daily. We may not have the exact bike available at the time of your rental, but this cluster is a good sample of our current inventory.

Sport-Hybrid

This is our flat-bar option for the Triathlon. These are mostly steel and aluminum frames with mid-range hybrid components. We recommend this category to less experienced riders who are more budget-minded or seeking more comfort and control.

Premium Road

If you’re looking to get your cardio for the day and want something a little more sporty than a hybrid, our premium road bikes may be just what you are looking for. These lightweight, name brand, drop handlebar style bikes come equipped with Shimano or Sram componentry and 18 gears or more. Models vary.

Super Premium-Road

Our Super Premium Road Bike line focuses on more modern high end road bikes for more discriminating cyclists. At 3rd Coast Cycles we would never rent you a bicycle that we wouldn’t ride ourselves, and these are some of our best! If you’re looking for high end speed and top notch componentry you may enjoy a one of our Cannondale Super 6s with Dura Ace, a smooth riding Trek Emonda with Ultegra, or a maybe a stunning 11 speed carbon Fuji Altimira with 105. Our models vary, but quality and speed is consistent. You won’t find a better road bikes to rent in the city.

Professional Road

Our Pro Level Road Bikes line focuses on all the same attributes and quality as the Super Premium line with addition of high end carbon wheelsets. Our sets include carbon Zipp 202s, 303s, 404s, Aeolus 7s , Boyds, and Rolf Prima Vigors, etc. We have wheelsets that will give you that competitive edge at your next local group ride or event. You might find few reserve bikes here that arent available in the Super Premium lineup like our Pinarello Dogma f10 with Record 11. All of our Pro Level road bikes are stunning and ready to race or train.
